Em 27 de outubro de 2018, uma linha oficial de roupas, A Darker Shade of Clothing, baseada na série Tons de Magia foi lançada na Jordandené.[4]
V. E. Schwab se uniu à Lit Escalates para produzir mercadorias oficiais baseadas em vários de seus livros. O primeiro produto foi um conjunto de elementos; era limitado a 250 e vinha com um certificado de autenticidade autografado. O item foi lançado em 24 de junho de 2022.[5] Eles também lançaram uma réplica da adaga de Lila Bard em 28 de outubro de 2022.[6] Elas foram feitos à mão por Joshua Polus (The Orange Armory).[7]
Além das réplicas, a empresa também vende mercadorias regulares, como roupas, patches e sacolas.
História[]
Por volta de 2012/13, Schwab começou a trabalhar em Tons de Magia[8] quando teve a imagem em sua mente da colisão de Kell Maresh e Lila Bard em um beco na Londres Cinza.[9][10][11]
Curiosidades[]
- A maioria das pessoas no mundo Tons de Magia, um mundo "não binário", é atraída pelo poder e não pelo gênero.[12] Além disso, V. E. Schwab afirmou que todos os personagens "devem ser presumidos queer, a menos que seja declarado o contrário"[13] e que, até agora, "apenas" George III e George IV são heterossexuais.[14]
- Embora Schwab adore histórias de fantasia de portais, ela não gosta de mapas. Ela, portanto, decidiu criar um mundo quatro vezes de quatro maneiras diferentes, em vez de quatro mundos totalmente diferentes para a série Tons de Magia. Ela esperava que isso tornasse mais fácil para os leitores entenderem a construção do mundo, pois eles só precisavam aprender sobre um mundo, essencialmente.[15]
- Ela decidiu ambientar a série em Londres porque sua mãe é do sul da Inglaterra e quando Schwab visitou a Inglaterra pela primeira vez quando criança, ficou fascinada com o fato de que lugares individuais eram mais antigos do que sua terra natal, os EUA, e que "a história [era] uma coisa sempre presente ao redor [dela]." Foi seu "primeiro sentido físico real da história e da antiguidade".[16][17]
- Ela também escolheu Londres porque "queria uma cidade com marcações geográficas fortes, mas simples (como o Tâmisa), para que [ela] - e os leitores - pudessem ter uma versão minimalista em suas mentes enquanto [ela] raspou os detalhes em cada mundo e depois construiu novos."[18]
- O conceito de Vitari foi adicionado bastante tarde à história, pois o primeiro rascunho de A Darker Shade of Magic não o apresentava.[19]
- O mundo e a história de Tons de Magia foram criados por V.E. Schwab e sua editora, Miriam Weinberg.[20]
- Quase todos os livros de Schwab foram uma "reação a algo [ela] leu - ou algo [ela não] foi capaz de encontrar".[21] Tons de Magia foi sua reação à paisagem de fantasia,[22] significando o conteúdo de muitos livros de fantasia que são publicados.[23]
